it's been awhile since I've posted a movie review...and I just realized that once again I'm reviewing a Pedro Almodovar movie.
I definitely enjoyed this waaaaay better than the previous one, Bad Education.
After not having been to the movies in awhile, I decided to see this today. It had been getting good reviews, and since it was playing only at the Cinema City and not the regular box office theaters, I thought it best if I just took myself away from studying to see this.
I thought it was a good movie - far from the description by the theater that it was a "thriller", I thought Volver was more of family drama. There were quite a few funny and endearing moments between the characters which - despite it being in Spanish with English subtitles - definitely made the movie quite refreshing to see (especially in the mood that I'm in).
Penelope Cruz I thought was good - and I guess she is a "selling point" of the movie.
All in all...if you like Almodovar's movies, and have the chance to see it then by all means GO already!! :)
